15 Social Media Templates for Fundraisers

· Generosity Team

Stuck on what to post? These 15 ready-to-adapt templates cover everything from launching your fundraiser to thanking your supporters.

Promoting a fundraiser on social media doesn't need to be clever — it needs to be consistent. These templates will get you from launch to thank-you without staring at a blank screen. Swap in your details, add a photo, and post.

Launch

  1. The announcement. "We're raising $X for [cause] and we need your help! Here's how it works: [one sentence]. Every share helps — link below."
  2. The story. "Why are we doing this? [two sentences about the people it helps]. This isn't just about money — it's about [outcome]."
  3. The how-it-works. "Three ways to support: buy a voucher, make a donation, or share this post. All take under a minute."

Building momentum

  1. The milestone. "We just hit 25%! Thank you — especially to [name/shout-out]. The finish line is in sight."
  2. The voucher spotlight. "Meet [business name]. They've kindly offered vouchers with [X]% going to our cause. Perfect for [occasion]."
  3. The impact preview. "What does $100 actually do for us? [concrete example, e.g. 'pays for two team registration fees']."
  4. The supporter story. "Why does [person] support this fundraiser? 'Because [quote].' If it means something to them, it'll mean something to you."
  5. The deadline nudge. "One week to go and we're at 60%. Can you help us close the gap?"

Keeping it alive

  1. The behind-the-scenes. A photo of the team, the kids, or the committee at work, with a caption about what's happening.
  2. The Q&A. "You asked, we answered: What happens if we exceed our goal? [answer]. What if we don't reach it? [answer]."
  3. The challenge. "If we reach 80% by Friday, [committee member] has agreed to [fun forfeit]. Who's in?"
  4. The share request. "We can't do this alone — tag three friends who'd want to support [cause]."

Wrapping up

  1. The final push. "Final 48 hours! Every dollar between now and [date] counts twice as much [or insert real incentive]."
  2. The celebration. "We did it! [Amount] raised thanks to [number] supporters. Here's what happens next."
  3. The thank-you. "To every single person who donated, shared, or cheered us on: thank you. You made this happen. [specific outcome]"

A few rules of thumb

Post the same content across Facebook, Instagram and any other channels, adapting the length. Always include a clear link or QR code. Reply to every comment. And remember: progress posts outperform asks — so share updates at least as often as you ask.

Consistency beats perfection. Post something every few days and your fundraiser will stay front of mind.
